When Taj Coorg needed transportation at its resort, it initially turned to the usual suspects – Electric buggies.
However, the incline proved too tough for the traditional buggies. Of the 35 ordered, they were left with only 16 after a year – with most requiring a complete motor replacement in a few months.

That is when it was conceived that old Maruti Gypsy’s could be transformed into efficient people carriers.
The Maruti Gypsy is a four-wheel-drive vehicle based on the long wheelbase Suzuki Jimny SJ40/410 series. It is primarily an off-road vehicle, or a vehicle for rough unprepared roads. It was sold in New Zealand as the Suzuki Farm Worker. It was assembled at the Maruti Suzuki’s Gurgaon plant in India.

They proved to be an amazing success requiring low maintenance and efficient.
